TRAINING YOUR DOG FOR EVERYDAY LIFE
I like to make my classes fun and enjoyable for both handler and dog and only teach reward based methods. I want everyone to enjoy the learning process so that classes are quality time for you and your dog and you will both want to progress with your training outside of weekly classes.
My classes will be based on the Kennel Club Good Citizen dog training scheme but will also cover other everyday training needs.
ABOUT THE TRAINER
My name is Marian Jackes and I have been a trainer for DJ Dog Training Club since shortly after it started. Prior to that I was treasurer and a trainer at Chippenham and District Canine Society. I currently train classes on Friday evenings and Sundays mornings but from January 2020 I will be taking on all the Friday classes on my own behalf and so I have set up Ash Dog Training. I am a member of the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme working towards accreditation.
I have two labradors, both of which I still train in obedience classes myself for our mutual enjoyment. We also do gundog training for fun, my younger dog has been doing agility this Summer and my older one started scentwork as this suits his advancing years!
Training takes place at Langley Burrell Village Hall just outside of Chippenham. The hall has been used by dog clubs for very many years and a number of shows are held there each year.
People come to train with us from all over the area, Chippenham, Corsham, Melksham, Calne and all the surrounding villages.
